Humdinga sounds like it may be a word synonymous with Australia, however, here we are referring to the Humdinga amphibious car from Gibbs Technologies from the United Kingdom who are at the leading edge of designing and producing high speed amphibian technology vehicles (HSA).
The Humdinga unlike it’s sportier little brother, the Gibbs Aquada, is a completely different four wheel drive amphibious beast just as happy off road on land, as well as carrying out high speed maneuver’s on water.
Capable of seating 5, on land it can do 100mph and on the water is just as happy with a top speed of 40mph. Power comes from a 350bhp engine.
The Humdinga has been specifically designed to take on rough, remote and hostile terrain on land and is also capable of conveying not just 5 passengers but also all their equipment and supplies.
This amphibious water vehicle, water car, unlike any other, obviously has a huge number of applications appealing to a very wide userbase. It most certainly is not simply a toy but has huge advantages over other traditional land based, four wheel drive vehicles only.
The Gibbs Humdinga 4×4 proves exactly the scalability and versatility of HSA technology and Gibbs Technologies - a perfect marriage, designing vehicles which can be perfectly adapted for use both on land and water at the same time.
On land the Gibbs Humdinga can reach 60mph is just over 9 seconds which is pretty impressive for an amphibious 4WD vehicle of this kind and on the water can reach the plane, skimming across the waves in about 10 seconds.
Running on unleaded gasoline it’s total curbside weight is 2 tonnes.
