This question pops up over and over again on many forums re: Will I get penalised for using duplicated content?

The short answer is no, despite what you may read from many people saying / stating otherwise.

What you don’t want to do is use duplicated content within your own website, that will get you penalised, but using identical content from other sites on your website, that is perfectly ok.

If it were not ok, then why is it that the article directories, many of which have identical articles upon their sites, are not themselves penalised by Google and the other major search engines? Why do they all rank so well still?

Another case in point: Many news websites get their content directly from Associated Press or the Reuters News Agency, again, these sites still rank very well despite using this duplicated content every day that is displayed on so many websites within their particular industry, why should it be any different for you?

Just because so many people state that duplicate content is not allowed does not make what they are stating, true. Just because this so called ‘fact’ is bandied around, all over the internet by so many, repeating ad infinitum what 80% plus of the internet population is saying, without looking at all of the facts logically, again does not make this true. Just because there are so many tools out there such as DupeFreePro amongst many others, all advocating the dire consequences of duplicated content, again, this only serves to give credence to something which is not true in the slightest.

Of course, if you are copying someone else’s content, it is still good to give credit where credit is due to the original copyright holder, this is just respectful, but rest assured that with the big G especially, it’s not going to come down on you like a ton of bricks for using duplicated content from elsewhere online, or penalise your site for using it.

Save yourself a huge amount of time, stop with the endless article rewrites, which cost you money.
